Brief Biographical Sketch:
Born in Kingston, Ontario but raised in the Big Apple. MCDB major and Art History enthusiast. Excited to teach at Yale Splash!! Interests include: night runs and going on adventures with Hercule Poirot. Often hailed as the genius of modern art, Pablo Picasso began his journey towards artistic stardom as a classical artist with refined tastes. Gradually, his choices became more purposeful and his vision more unique. With over 10,000 works, Picasso left a huge repetoire and legacy. This survey class will focus on select Picasso pieces that cover all of his major periods, including Blue, Rose and Cubist, in the context of the social and artistic history at the time. No previous knowledge of art history or Picasso is required.

Why is neutral Switzerland one of the world's happiest countries? Or why does Iceland, despite it's dark days, manage to be happier than tropical countries in the southern hemisphere? This course will explore different criteria for measuring and understanding happiness based on happiness models around the world. We will end the class by understanding how to achieve and maintain happiness for fuller, richer lives.

Ever wonder why neutral Switzerland is one of the happiest countries? Or why Iceland, despite it's dark days, manages to be happier than tropical countries in the South? This course will explore different criteria for measuring and understanding happiness based on happiness models around the world. We will end the class by engaging in 'happiness-promoting' activities understanding how to achieve and maintain happiness for fuller, richer lives.

B492: Origami for Beginners in Splash Summer 13 (Jul. 06 - 27, 2013)
Want to learn the traditional art of Japanese paper folding? This class will cover basic folds involved in origami and will teach you how to make origami including paper stars, cranes, and turtles. Everyone in the class will also participate in making a group origami piece!
