In addition to reviewing the rules of Texas Hold'em poker, we will discuss expected value, pot odds, and other applications of probability to poker. We will then simulate a few hands of poker, using what we learned.

We'll explore some basic ways that abstract algebra unifies numbers, geometry, and other aspects of math. By the end of the course, you will have a better understanding of what algebra really means to a mathematician.
