Brief Biographical Sketch:
Hi! My name is Marcos Barrios and I am a Yale Senior from Orlando, Florida. I have been teaching Sprout/Splash for several years and my classes have covered musical, political, and religious themes. I am studying EP&E, which is Ethics, Politics, and Economics, so I love discussing the political word and philosophical thought! I'm also a musician, playing Piano, Oboe, and Trumpet. I look forward to meeting you and exploring some unique topics! This class is for you if A) you're interested in Christianity and want to get a big picture view of what it's about, what is the Gospel, and how the Bible comes together to present this claim.

We will explore the images, symbols, metaphors, and connections the Old Testament paints that point to the coming Messiah.
This class is for you if A) you're interested in Christianity and want to get a big picture view of what it's about, what is the Gospel, and how the Bible comes together to present this claim.

As as a Deputy Campaign Manager for a high profile congressional race in a swing state this election cycle, I have learned about the ins and outs of campaigning. This class will look at the major parts of a campaign, including fundraising, volunteers, research, communications, and social media. Come and learn a little of the behind the scene life as a campaign staffer!

This will be an interactive overview of the Electoral College, the system in which we select our President! We will be discussing how it works, why the founders chose it, and the arguments for and against it in modern times. To do this, we will be playing "270", a Presidential Election simulator game that is great for teaching about the Electoral college and campaigning in general! With the 2020 election around the corner, come find out how we REALLY pick the President!
