Brief Biographical Sketch:

Maya is a sophomore majoring in the History of Science, Medicine and Public Health on the Pre-Medical track. She is passionate about health equity and advocacy. When not in the classroom she plays club soccer, works in a cancer immunobiology lab, goes on runs through East Rock, and loves to hang out with friends.

S4738: You call the shots: The dilemma surrounding vaccines in Splash Spring 2023 (Apr. 01, 2023)
Given the current controversy surrounding immunizations, this course centers around the science and the history of vaccines. By the end of this course, students will have a basic understanding of the types of vaccines, their functionality, and the background of vaccine development. In addition, students will explore methods of navigating media coverage on vaccines to better discern between fact and fiction.
