Brief Biographical Sketch:
Growing up in Yorktown Heights, NY, Eric Song graduated from Yorktown High School in June of 2024, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and conducted cybersecurity research, winning back-to-back awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair. Eric began his studies at Yale University in August of 2024, where he is pursuing electrical engineering. He is the transportation beat reporter with the Yale Daily News, the webmaster and a member of E-Board for the Yale Record, and a radio show/poscast host for WYBCx Yale Radio. Eric is expected to graduate in May of 2028. This course will use an alternative teaching style towards teaching the fundamentals of computer science, instead going by historical narrative to gradually build the whole stack of computing technology from number systems to the World Wide Web.
From counting rocks and Eastern philosophy in ancient history, to Leibniz's thinking machine, eventually working our way to the modern day with figures such as Tim Berners-Lee, we will give a comprehensive overview of how today's most important technologies came to light, and the human genius behind them.
X5087: Introduction to Air Traffic Control in Splash Spring 2025 (Mar. 02, 2025)
This course will provide an overview of the national Air Traffic Control system as well as the procedures involved for safe and proper navigation and direction of aircraft within the United States.
