Ever wondered how to write an argumentative text that also manages to be funny? Ever wanted to use irony and sarcasm but still remain earnest? This class will focus on all of this, never fear! We'll talk about the basic setup of good satirical pieces, different writing techniques that make satire shine and how to make jokes land effectively. We will also read at least one or two short examples of successful satire and then brainstorm ideas for our own (and if there's time, we might do some writing too).
