Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! My name is Emma and I'm a first-year Yale College student in Ezra Stiles. After taking hieroglyphics as my language credit here at Yale, I've come to appreciate just how exciting it can be to learn a language that incorporates signs. I've also found that knowing hieroglyphics is a great fun fact that is sure to impress others.

Are you interested in ancient civilizations? Ever wanted to explore one of the oldest forms of writing in the world? In this class, you will learn the basics of the Egyptian language through different hieroglyphic signs. We will go over the most basic signs and phrases along with their corresponding sounds, transliterations, and translations.
