Brief Biographical Sketch:

My name is Laila (Lay-luh), and I am so excited to teach with Splash this year! In high school, led seminars with my peers as a part of our DEIB initiative. From that experience, I learned to love facilitating interactive and empathetic learning activities. I hope to bring those to the Splash experience! Fun Facts: I love music & I have a Black Belt in Taekwondo!

In this course, students will learn about the origins of the Black hair care market, with a specific focus on how businesses create opportunities for generational wealth. Students will also be able to connect the latter to the cultural significance of texture representation in the United States.
