Brief Biographical Sketch:

I'm a junior in Yale College majoring in Earth and Planetary Sciences with a focus on geobiology. I research the evolutionary biology of bacteria and bacteriophages ("phages"), viruses that infect bacteria. I'm interested in how earth materials like iron influence virus evolution in the ocean and animal guts. I'm originally from Rhode Island, I have three cats and a dog, and I believe that Lady Gaga's ARTPOP album is criminally underrated.

S4610: Harnessing Virus Evolution for Human Health: Phage Therapy in Splash Fall 2022 (Oct. 29, 2022)
Antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections represent a rapidly growing public health crisis, killing at least 1.27 million people globally each year. Bacteriophages (phages), viruses that infect bacteria, are entering the spotlight as an alternative to antibiotics. Phages can directly treat bacterial infections and some can even force bacteria to evolve loss of their antibiotic resistance. Come learn about the power of phages and cutting-edge research being conducted right now at Yale's Center for Phage Biology and Therapy!
