Brief Biographical Sketch:

I have been interested in language for a long time, whether that be in its cultural, cognitive, philosophical, or mathematical aspects. I am interested in research regarding interpreting and developing large language models, from a linguistic perspective to further our understanding of artificial intelligence and the brain.

What makes invented languages different from the languages of the real world? In this course, we’ll take you through the steps to start making your own constructed language (a “conlang”). We’ll cover what the world’s languages have in common (and how they differ), and how you can use these differences to make your own linguistic art!
