All About Dinosaurs! in Sprout Spring 17 (Feb. 11 - 25, 2017)
Do you love dinosaurs? Of course you do! So come join us while we learn about some of the most amazing creatures to ever walk, swim, and fly on Earth! While dinosaurs dominated Earth for over 165 million years. Humans have been around for only 2 million years. That’s a lot of dinosaur knowledge to get through, and we aim to share all the coolest bits, from Titanosaur, which weighed more much than 1000 human adults, to the giant shark Megalodon that ate the equivalent of an entire elephant each week.

In this course, we’ll cover how machines learn, with specific examples from medical technology and robotics. The specific focus will be on how natural intelligence informs the design of algorithms.

We’ll cover fortresses through the ages, from ancient defenses like the Great Wall to the floating fortresses of the US Navy and Cold War super-bunkers that can withstand nuclear explosions. How were they designed, and just how invulnerable did they end up being? We’ll end by discussing some of the most sophisticated modern security systems in use today and emerging technologies for fortresses of the future.
